Vittorio Marella

Marella's paintings are photograms of a world suspended between reality and dream, far from any romantic or holographic representation of Venice.

Born in Venice in 1997, Vittorio Marella is a young self-taught painter who lives and works in Lido di Venezia. He has always been drawing and painting, but after graduating from high school and studying astrophysics, he decided to pursue his true vocation and he completely devoted himself to painting. Vittorio has exhibited at the Blu Gallery in Bologna and in several collective exhibitions, such as one at the Museo degli Eremitani in Padua. He participated at the Booming Art Fair, the Bologna fair dedicated to emerging art and in 2019 he was exhibited in the collective exhibition Lang Leve Rembrandt at the Rijksmuseum.

 

Lineadacqua Gallery presented his first solo exhibition ‘Moving stillness’ in 2021.
Marella's paintings are photograms of a world suspended between reality and dream, far from any romantic or holographic representation of Venice. His highly personal gaze investigates the deepest folds of the wonder of those who live in the city every day, someone born and raised in the most surreal of urban agglomerations that man has ever conceived. Marella talks about life, death, destiny, loneliness, impossible human relationships, in a sometimes ghostly scene in which man is saved only by clinging to the truth of a detail, a memory that is familiar and dear to him.
